My Precious Darling,
What a ball of fun and energy you are! You are growing leaps and bounds and I am so proud of you and excited for you.
The other day I was thinking about how just a few months ago you had to reach up to open the bathroom drawer and then stand on your very tippy toes to put your hand up, way over your head, to root around in the contents. You had no idea what was in that drawer but you would feel around until you found something of use. This week I teared up because I watched you open the bathroom drawer, then you stood up on your tippy toes to peer down into it and select an item that you wanted to play with. You are getting SO tall! Never mind the fact that you chose my expensive makeup brushes and then proceded to use them to "paint" on the toilet and the dogs while I wasn't looking:)
We went to TN to visit Lori, Tony, AJ and Ryan. It was 14 hours there and Lori sent some wrapped little gifts for you to open and play with along the way when being in the car seat got tough. You were so tolerant and well behaved even though the drive was long. You sang songs with us, watched "The Doodlebops" on DVD (until you broke the DVD player) and then read books and colored. You did a wonderful job on a long car trip that would have driven any 2 year old crazy.
In TN you made fast friends with Ryan, who lavished attention on you non-stop. You two romped and wrestled and played and had a blast. Everyone there was so head over heels for you because you are such a smart and sweet little girl. Lori couldn't believe how polite you were (you ARE really good with please and thank you and I am really proud of you for that) and she spoiled you rotten! :) You took the changes in your schedule with a grain of salt and really bonded to Lori as sort of a "stand in Nana" ...to the degree that you fell asleep in her arms almost each night. I loved watching you bond with her because she is special to me as well~ what a great thing for me to watch.
In the last week or so you have completely surprised us with your verbal skills. Both Nana and Meema and Boppa, as well as dad and I have mentioned how much better you seem to be speaking. You are offering complete sentences now and you are able to articulate your thoughts so easily and fully-it's truely awesome to see! You have all of the sudden moved beyond the 3 word sentences of other 2 year olds and moved into complete thoughts. No more "Lulu need cheese" because now you would say "Mama, I need cheese please". My heart flutters with love because I am now able to hear your thoughts so clearly and it allows me to see your heart. Your personality is so beautiful and I love hearing you speak.
You are quite the little mommy to the dogs, to the extent that you give them orders and try to hand feel them and direct them where to go. It's quite funny though I do at times, have to tell you to be nice or to leave them alone since you can be a tad bossy~it's the age:)
You are so good about letting me do your hair now, and it is getting so long! You even bring me bows to put in your hair. You can be quite helpful, bringing me diapers or wipes and even putting things in the garbage for me to help out. You and I have been baking together often in the last few weeks as well...you are a wonderful little helper. You love to pour the ingredients into bowls and hold the mixer or stir with a spoon...you are a wonderful pal to keep me company when Wilder is napping. I like being your friend and I love being your mom.
Lulu, I wish you could see how often dad and I look at eachothe and exclaim "how does she know that?!? She is SO smart!" You constantly amaze us. We are SO proud of you. Daddy and I are deep in love with you. You are love. Simple as that. You ARE love.
